We are delighted to be featured in the latest (may/June 2024) issue of Seattle Magazine, showcasing our project, Canoe Trail Residence. The article beautifully articulates Rhodes Architecture + Light's experience and successes integrating art, galleries, lighting and studio spaces into a home. Working with homeowners Ken and artist Jane Friedman was an incredible experience; their interest in art, space, material and light pushed the boundaries of what we can achieve in design. View our blog on "The Architectural Principals of Designing with Art" here.
In an excerpt from the article, Jane Friedman noted, "We wanted to live seamlessly, where the art enhances the architecture, and the architecture enhances the art. We wanted a home where our grandchildren could visit with a happy heart, and not be told, 'Don't touch this. Don't touch that." "The Friedman's engaged Rhodes Architecture + Light, which won an enthusiastic recommendation after a home gallery installation at the Kessler Estate in Indianola."
